A New Year's Miracle - We settled on the debute date!

It was the first Sunday of the new year, and boy, was it grey. The sky was dim but even rain was too lazy to fall, so everything just stood still in a bleak melancholy. Neither Dar nor Lory liked the color gray much, so instead they escaped into the colourful wonders of authortube and vivid pics of website redesigning. Their WIP rolled on like a good little carriage, nearing a line they both awaited – yet none of them new. Until now.
‘Honey, we set the date now!’ Lory exclaimed.
‘You mean, right now?’ Dar asked, still half asleep in webdesign.
‘Yes, know. Here is the calendar, let’s chose something between the 24th of May and 13th of June. Wait let me see which day we should publish. It says… Tuesday. Wait no, that is for traditional publishing,’ Lory said.
‘Huh, good, I hate Tuesdays. Tuesdays are always bad days.’ Dar nodded in agreement.
‘Okay, they say for indies that we should publish on a Sunday or a Monday,’ Lory continued.
‘Sunday then?’ Dar asked, not raising his eyebrow because he learned from their editor that that would be overdescribing.
‘Ok, but which one? 23th May? That’s our anniversary, it would be nice,’ Lory said.
‘But it’s too early, what about the 6th of June?’ Dar asked.
‘That is the birthday of my ex, we won’t publish then it’s bad luck,’ Lory said. Enough was said.
‘Ok, then 13th of June?’ Dar asked, and suddenly a New Year’s miracle was born.
‘13th of June… not bad. Look this website says that the best is between the 7th and the 14th of the month!’
‘Then the 13th of June it is!’ they both exclaimed, happy as a clam.

So this is how it happened. Ladies, gentleman, and those who have yet to make up your minds, drumrolls, please!

The first book of our series Spirits of Seiran, Shackles of the Storm will debut on the 13th of June!
We knew for a while, that we want to publish it in the early summer of 2021 because we hope it will provide a fun read for the summer break, the lazy day-offs, lying on the beach without a care for the world… you know the stuff.

There is still a lot of things to do until then. I’m trying to follow a checklist about all the things we need to settle, mostly on the marketing part, to spread the world. Fortunately, the ancient Roman tactic of divide and conquer still stands - Dar will do all the visuals, promo pictures, and press kit, while I will handle parts of the business, like uploading the book to distributors, getting ISBN’s, and stuff.
Our next busy month will be March when we will start sending our ARC’s – although I need to start looking for reviewers now… I mean as soon as possible –, and start the preorder. Stay tuned!

Lory
